The rule
- 8 hours of CE every two years
- At least 4 hours must be learning to perform the skills or services of your profession
- The Board's free online jurisprudence exam counts for 2 hours
- Instructors need at least 4 hours of teaching methodology

- Cosmetologists: December 31 of even-numbered years. Next: December 31, 2026.
- Estheticians: September 30 of even-numbered years. Next: September 30, 2028.

No. Nebraska requires 8 hours. Our course covers 2 of them, the free jurisprudence exam covers 2 more, and at least 4 hours must be hands-on skills training in your profession.
Is this course approved by the Nebraska Board?
Nebraska's Board no longer reviews or approves continuing education programs. Licensees choose their own courses to meet the 8-hour requirement.
What is the jurisprudence exam?
A free online exam from Nebraska DHHS on the state's cosmetology laws. Passing it counts for 2 hours of continuing education.
When is my deadline?
Cosmetologists renew by December 31 of even-numbered years, so the next deadline is December 31, 2026. Estheticians renew by September 30 of even-numbered years.
Is there an exam?
No. Complete the course at your own pace and download your certificate when you finish.
